Maersk Drilling, the company of Danish shipping group AP Moller-Maersk has ordered the South Korean Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) to construct two new vessels for deep water drilling that will be taken over in the third and fourth quarters of 2013. .
The vessels will be 228 meters long and will be capable of operating at depths up to 12,000 feet deep (3,650 meters) and drilling deep wells to over 40,000 feet (12,200 meters).
